Illustrator for Reproductive Health Comic

The Reproductive Health Access Project mobilizes, trains, and supports clinicians to make reproductive health care accessible to everyone in the United States. We connect, develop, and support clinicians to become effective leaders promoting reproductive freedom. We develop practical, evidence-based, patient-centered clinical tools and resources that set a clinical standard in the U.S. and are used widely around the world. We are looking for illustrators who can help us build our collection of educational comics, also known as zines, on contraception, miscarriage, and abortion.

RHAP has received a grant to create three zines focusing on issues related to contraception, miscarriage, and abortion. We are looking for a different illustrator for each zine to help us format the layout and provide illustrations that can accompany the evidence-based content that we will write. Illustrators will work with RHAP staff to develop a product that will be field tested and refined, based upon feedback from members of the wider RHAP community. You can see a model for these projects with our first zine, Sam’s Medication Abortion.

  • Maintain timely communication with RHAP staff throughout the duration of the project.
  • Work with RHAP staff to create proposals, drafts, and final products of the zine project.
  • Incorporate feedback or suggestions from RHAP staff and field testers into the drafts and final product of the zine.
  • Provide consultation to RHAP staff on layout logistics and creative aspects of the project.
  • Complete project deliverables within the approved timeline.
