The Reproductive Health Access Project (RHAP) trains, supports, and mobilizes primary care clinicians to ensure equitable access to sexual and reproductive health care, including abortion. RHAP fills critical gaps in clinical education and care delivery by centering communities most impacted by barriers to care. We connect, develop, and support clinicians to become effective leaders promoting reproductive freedom. We develop practical, evidence-based, patient-centered clinical tools and resources that set a clinical standard in the U.S. and are used worldwide. Our clinical training programs develop primary care clinicians who provide, advocate for, and teach full-spectrum reproductive health care. Our technical assistance programs creatively address barriers to providing high-quality abortion, contraception, and management of early pregnancy loss care in primary care settings. Through our national organizing and mobilizing, we are building a movement to change the way reproductive health care is provided.
As the Sr Program Coordinator, Network, you are a part of the national Reproductive Health Access Network team supporting the development and execution of various strategies and activities to build the Network, to develop and grow Clusters (aka chapters), to create and manage Network advocacy campaigns, and to connect with a diverse network of allied organizations that RHAP can reliably collaborate with to take action to expand access to sexual and reproductive health care. The Sr Program Coordinator, Network works closely with the other Sr. Program Coordinator(s) to successfully meet organizational and project goals.
Over the course of a typical year, the Network prioritizes: organizing clinicians to engage with their professional organization (primarily the American Academy of Family Physicians); responding to legislation and policies that affect access to reproductive health care; providing clinical education; leadership development; and community building.
The Sr. Program Coordinator, Network works collaboratively with the Network team and all staff members to foster a healthy, productive, inclusive, and positive work environment. The Sr. Program Coordinator, Network contributes towards an organizational culture to shift mindsets, policies, and practices towards equity, inclusivity, and anti-racism within RHAP. Throughout all of their work, the Sr. Program Coordinator, Network will apply the organization’s values. This position reports directly to the Manager of Organizing & Advocacy.
A. Cluster Programming & Coordination
a. Manages 12-15 Network state-based chapters, or “Clusters”
i. Works with Cluster leaders to develop goals and objectives for their Clusters, with an emphasis on developing goals and subsequent programming that i integrate an intersectional and race equity lens and prioritize equity and inclusion.
ii. Mentors and supports Cluster leaders to coordinate local Cluster meetings, advocacy efforts, and activities that align with RHAP’s mission and values.
b. Provides logistical and administrative assistance for Network Cluster meetings, clinical education (CE) courses, and national meetings, when needed.
c. Interface regularly with RHAP’s constituent management system
d. Monitors and tracks Cluster activities, meetings, and accomplishments.
B. National Network Programming & Coordination
a. Works in collaboration with the Network team for annual program planning, priority-setting, and budgeting, considering and raising equity implications and effects of implicit bias on marginalized communities within and outside of RHAP.
b. Works with the Network team and other staff to plan, develop, and execute national events, meetings, and leadership summits.
c. Represents RHAP at state and national conferences, usually 3-4 times per year.
C. Partnerships & Collaborations
a. Conducts outreach to, develops, and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with an array of primary care and social justice organizations, especially reproductive justice organizations, to partner with RHAP’s Clusters.
b. Attends/follows along updates from state-based coalitions and connects Cluster Leaders and members with their local coalitions.
c. Signs on to partner/coalition statements when they are aligned with RHAP’s mission and values. Communicates and coordinates with the Manager of Communications to write and submit support/opposition letters, testimonies, etc.
D. Supervises Network intern(s), when appropriate.
E. Ethics and Integrity
a. Uphold the Reproductive Health Access Project Code of Ethics in all facets of professional and personal work interactions.
b. Apply a race equity lens in decision-making and priority setting: considering equity implications and effects of implicit bias on marginalized communities within and outside of RHAP.
c. Understand and practice confidentiality concerning non-public information about RHAP, staff, board, supporters, and all other third parties.
d. Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s values as listed in the Introduction to the Code of Ethics.
a. Maintain respective and collaborative relationships with all RHAP staff, board members, external vendors, and partner organizations, including local and national reproductive health, rights, and justice groups and primary care partners.
b. Serve as an ambassador for RHAP, representing the organization in various external venues and partnerships.
G. Other duties, as assigned.
Experience with field or community organizing for non-profit or political campaigns or other community mobilization experience is helpful. Familiarity with state and/or national campaigns is also helpful, but not required.
Community Familiarity: Experience or interest in working and/or learning to work with primary care, reproductive health, rights, and justice communities, as well as an understanding of the dynamics between these communities.
Positive Communicator: Enjoys talking to and partnering with others; is comfortable supporting people through decision making and challenges in their work. Has excellent listening skills and approaches relationships collaboratively and with an open mind.
Knowledge: Understanding of community organizing and campaigns, and experienced in event-planning. Experience with online constituent management systems such as EveryAction or other databases, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite are highly desired.
Project Leadership: Experience in working cooperatively and collaboratively to plan and execute projects, research, events, or initiatives.
Self-direction: Takes initiative in what can sometimes feel like chaotic or ambiguous environments, and motivated to explore solutions instead of waiting for directions. Detail-oriented, patient, highly organized, and follows-through on all responsibilities, and communicates concerns and challenges if they arise. Is responsive and works quickly and collaboratively.
Communications: Strong overall written and oral presentation skills, and the ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds and experiences.Is an active and compassionate listener and communicates their thoughts clearly. Able to write clearly and effectively for a variety of audiences and formats.
Resilience: Able to withstand working in an organization exposed to biased, anti-abortion/reproductive rights beliefs and incidents from external sources, and help community members facing similar challenges in their own advocacy.
Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work as an integral part of a team of hard-working, energetic professionals, taking feedback and working with a variety of colleagues with unique backgrounds, experiences, and working styles.
Prioritization and Detail Orientation: Ability to set and meet goals, prioritize, plan, manage, and complete work on deadline and in optimum quality, and communicates clearly should issues arise. Responds to constantly shifting daily events and priorities with strategic thinking, energy, and an open mind.
Commitment to Reproductive Justice: An understanding of and commitment to issues affecting the reproductive health/rights/justice community, as well as an understanding of racism, classism and other systems of interconnected oppressions is critical.
Language Ability: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English is required.
Work hours & compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position that involves occasional travel and significant travel at times. The entry level salary for this position is $64,890. Benefits include 20 days of paid time off a year, employer-covered health insurance, flexible spending accounts, professional development, and retirement benefits. This is a fully remote position.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work efficiently in a space without significant interruptions, especially during meetings.
- The employee is required to sit and use a computer for a large majority of working hours.
- Occasional in and out-of-state travel to conferences and meetings may be required.
- The employee may be required to work outside for programmatic duties such as tabling.
- This position is full-time (40 hours a week), with the employee’s regular full-time schedule to be approved by the supervisor.
- The employee will be asked to work evening and weekend hours for special program events or as necessary, usually 3-5 times per month.
- Some work at off-site locations may be required; RHAP aims for accessibility in any off-site location that we have control of, but some of them may not be fully accessible.
- The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively via computer, via phone, and in person.
