A policy resolution calling for the AAFP to 1) recognize that the care of treatment of transgender people is within the scope of family medicine, 2) include training on meeting the basic primary care needs of transgender people in family medicine education and 3) support public and private insurance coverage of the treatment of gender identity disorder/gender dysphoria.
